Team to partner with Green Light Racing and Chevrolet Silverados
Mooresville, NC (August 25, 2006) – Torquespeed Llc, a race team originating from
Great Britain and now working from the Green Light Racing premises in Mooresville, NC,
will enter the #07 Chevrolet in the last five NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races this year.
John Mickel will drive the Torquespeed engineered Chevrolet at Martinsville, Atlanta,
Texas, Phoenix and Miami.
Torquespeed will use a latest Chevrolet Silverado chassis and
Wegner Race Engines from within the GLR / Torquespeed working partnership.
John Mickel, the 35 year-old from Cambridge, England, is a multi-track champion in the
U.K. and Europe as well as on the World stage becoming the Legends World Champion
in 2001 on American soil, also with multiple wins in the European Stock Car Speed
Association, the European equivalent to the ASA Series.
Last year, Mickel competed in the Craftsman Truck Series with Bobby Hamilton Racing
at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway, finishing a respectable 29th in
Texas with his first time at the track. In 2004, Mickel competed in two American Speed
Association events in Charlotte and Atlanta, finishing 24th and 16th, respectively.
Torquespeed, which has extensive shop and engineering capabilities in Essex, U.K., will combine their expertise with the NCTS experienced teams of Morgan-Dollar Motorsports and Green Light Racing to campaign the effort.

expertise of established truck teams from the U.S. and the U.K.
The new relationship aligns well with NASCAR’s goal of increasing the exposure of the top series to the international audience.
The British press has shown considerable interest in following the team’s progress and success.
Torquespeed’s objective is to run Mickel in a full season in the 2007 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and challenge for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year.
